Our Story
A Family Legacy. The Next Chapter.
PowerSportsHub grew from a family shaped by the shop, the track, and the people who made both feel like home.
Chapter 01
Why We Built PowerSportsHub
Powersports and motorsports have been part of my family’s life for generations. They gave us a place to belong, people to learn from, and friendships that reached far beyond a race weekend.
I started PowerSportsHub because I wanted to give something back to that community—and make it easier for more people to become part of it. Great shops, racing organizations, events, businesses, and people are everywhere, but finding one another can still take too much work. My idea was to bring those connections closer together.
PowerSportsHub is our family business. It carries the history of my grandfather Earl Larson, my dad Dave Larson, and the life my brother Nash and I grew up in. Today, with my partner Megan Burba, my brother Nash Larson and his family, and the friends who have been part of our journey, that story continues.
We no longer run the racing series. This is my way of carrying the torch forward—honoring where we came from while building something useful for the people here now and the people who have yet to discover this life.
We’re building PowerSportsHub for the people who use it: helping shops connect with real customers, helping experienced riders and racers share what they know, and giving someone new a welcoming place to begin. I want it to keep growing with the community, listening and improving along the way.
— Dave Larson
Chapter 02
Where Our Story Began
Our roots begin with Earl Larson and GEM Products. GEM was part of a grassroots karting world built around parts, problem-solving, service, and relationships that lasted well beyond race day.
Dave remembers GEM at 496 E. St. Charles Road in Carol Stream from approximately the 1980s through 2010. The exact dates are still being documented, but the place it holds in the family story is clear: it was where work, racing, and community came together.

Chapter 03
Remembering My Dad — Dave Larson

A life devoted to racing. A legacy carried forward.
My dad, Dave Larson, grew up around our family’s shop and the sport that would shape his life. His father, Earl Larson, founded GEM Products. For our family, karting became a shared way of life—one that connected generations through the shop, the track and the people we met along the way.
Dad carried those roots into race promotion through GEM Promotions. For four decades, he owned and operated the Midwest’s Championship Enduro Series, helping racers find their place on the grid. He later founded TAG USA to bring greater consistency to Touch and Go competition across North America, including events such as the Rock Island Grand Prix.
Working with Marty Casey, Dad helped develop a common rulebook for that competition. In eKartingNews’ remembrance, friends and industry leaders recognized his commitment to getting racers on track, listening to the community and putting the sport’s interests first. Their memories spoke to both his work and the friendships behind it.
For Nash and me, he was Dad. His story is woven into our own—the shop, the racing, and the community we grew up around. We lost him on June 14, 2024, but the connection to that life remains part of who we are.
We no longer operate the racing series. PowerSportsHub AI is my way of carrying that spirit forward: helping people find one another, giving shops and organizations more opportunities to connect, and welcoming new families into powersports and motorsports.
This family business is built with gratitude for the people who shaped us and a commitment to the people still to come. Honoring Dad and my grandfather Earl means remembering their contributions—and continuing to give something back.
In loving memory of Dave Larson. The legacy continues.
Chapter 04
Raised in the Shop
For Dave and Nash, the family business and racing were part of everyday life. The shop, track, tools, trailers, early mornings, late nights, and people around the sport shaped how they learned to work and how they understood community.
The family archive is still being assembled. Rather than repeat unconfirmed childhood ages or fill missing moments with invented stories, this chapter will grow as family photographs, dates, and firsthand memories are identified.
Chapter 05
Carrying the Torch, Together
Carrying the legacy forward is family work. Dave is building this next chapter with his partner Megan Burba, his brother Nash Larson and his family, and the longtime friends who helped make racing feel like home.
The family no longer operates the racing series. PowerSportsHub is the new way Dave hopes to give back: connecting real people, shops, organizations, and newcomers while honoring the generations who opened the door before them.
Chapter 06
One Connected Home
The powersports and motorsports community is broad, passionate, and often scattered. PowerSportsHub brings the marketplace, useful knowledge, shops, organizations, events, machines, and people closer together in one home.
PowerSportsHub Intelligence helps people research, compare, organize, and prepare real work. It supports the connection; it does not replace the specialist, the shop, the organization, or the customer’s final decision.
Chapter 07
What We Believe
Family
The garage, track, trail, road, and water can create memories across generations.
Community
Riders, racers, families, shops, builders, and organizations are stronger when they can find one another.
Access
Newcomers deserve a welcoming place to learn, ask questions, and find their way into the lifestyle.
Useful service
Technology should help people accomplish real tasks while keeping people in control.
Connection
The best outcome is a real relationship—with the right machine, knowledge, place, business, or person.
Chapter 08
Thank You — And Welcome In
To every family, friend, racer, rider, shop, crew, and person we have shared this life with: thank you. Thank you for the time at the track, late nights in the shop, road trips, conversations, help, and memories that became part of who we are.
And to anyone discovering powersports or motorsports for the first time: welcome in. This is a place to begin, to learn, to meet people, and to build a story of your own.
